REVIEW OF SELECTED SAUVIGNON BLANCS
FROM LIBRARY STOCK

1996 Beautifully aged Sauvignon, still retains a great core of fruit weight which progresses throughout the whole palate with a super long tropical lychee finish. Layers of aged characters including flint and savoury notes. A nice backbone of acid ties the wine together. Still has legs to age a few more years yet.

1998 Fume Blanc Really elegant flint and mineral characters layered over honey dew melon. Really nice palate weight and richness which gives a lovely generosity to the wine. Elegant acids balance the wine and will give a few more potential years of aging but drinking lovely now

2003 Beautiful floral notes intermingled with some flinty river gravel notes over a lychee melon core. Palate has a lovely progression  and core of fruit weight and long sub tropical finish

2006  More traditional aged NZ sauvignon blanc characters present, melon and lychee present with some flinty aged characters. Nice generous palate probably drinking best now

2011  Elegant and pretty! Nice tropical flowers mixed with flint and some citrus characters. Great weight and core Not mean at all!!

2015 Super pretty and elegant wine, a wine that makes you want to climb into the glass and explore. Floral, greener spectrum tropical fruit, touch of dried nettle… the layers go on and on. Rich round full typical Gladstone Sauvignon blanc palate nothing mean spirited about this wine at all. Nice elegant streak of acid carries through the palate which gives good progression and length
